Final Service Pack

On Tuesday 29th April 2008, Microsoft made available the final Service Pack (SP3) for Windows XP. This Windows® XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system. Support for Windows XP SP2 ends 24 months after the next service pack releases or at the end of the product's support lifecycle, whichever comes first. On June 30th 2008, Microsoft withdrew Windows XP from general sale, with Windows Vista becoming the mainstream desktop operating system.
